6 Degrees Search seeks a Director of Manufacturing Engineering to lead manufacturing engineering, CNC programming, digital manufacturing, and NPI for aerospace components.

This hands-on leadership role guides complex parts from customer drawings through first-article acceptance to stable production, improving readiness, reducing NPI lead times, and building a high-performing technical team across facilities.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace or related field.
• At least 10 years in aerospace/defense manufacturing with technical leadership.
• Strong CATIA manufacturing and CAM workflows experience.
• Experience with VERICUT or similar NC verification and simulation tools.
• Leadership of NPI, first-article, and production launch activities.
• Deep understanding of CNC machining, multi-axis development, tooling and release.
• Knowledge of GD&T, CMM inspection, on-machine probing, AS9100.
• Ability to manage competing priorities with deadlines and capacity.
• Strong communication with operators, programmers, customers, leaders.
• Onsite work in fast-paced manufacturing; export control eligibility.

Responsabilidades

• Lead manufacturing engineers, CNC programmers, and supporting resources.
• Translate drawings and CATIA models into production-ready processes.
• Develop milling/turning/multi-axis strategies for aerospace parts.
• Establish CATIA CAM standards, postprocessors, and setup docs.
• Improve cycle times, machine utilization, and process capability.
• Guide NPI from design transfer to production launch with milestones.
• Coordinate tooling, fixtures, inspection planning, and operator prep.
• Develop multiyear digital manufacturing roadmap and cost tracking.
• Foster knowledge sharing and standardization across facilities.
• Lead customer-facing manufacturing readiness and action plans.
