Job summary
Software Placement Group is seeking a Director of Manufacturing Engineering in Bay Shore, NY to lead manufacturing engineering, CNC programming, and digital manufacturing for flight-critical aerospace components. You will guide parts from customer drawings through first article and into stable production, while shaping a long-term digital manufacturing strategy across multiple facilities.
The role requires 10+ years in aerospace/manufacturing, CATIA CAM and VERICUT experience, and a hands-on
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline is required.
- 10+ years in aerospace/defense manufacturing with technical leadership.
- Strong CATIA CAM and programming experience.
- Experience with NC verification and machine simulation tools.
- Proven success leading NPI and production launches.
- Ability to work onsite in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead manufacturing engineers, CNC programmers, and support resources.
- Translate drawings and models into production-ready processes.
- Guide multi-axis milling and turning strategies for aerospace components.
- Establish CAM standards, tooling libraries, and postprocessor practices.
- Improve cycle times, utilization, and process capability.
- Lead NPI from design transfer to production.
- Coordinate programming, tooling, and inspection planning.
- Develop a multiyear digital manufacturing roadmap.
