Job summary

Crane Aerospace and Electronics in Elyria, OH is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop and implement manufacturing processes compliant with product specs and quality standards. You will contribute to continuous improvement in machining and manufacturing strategies, and play a role in AS9145 (APQP) implementation at the site. The role requires 2–5 years in manufacturing, CAD/GD&T knowledge, and experience with APQP/PPAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years manufacturing experience; precision machining or automotive preferred.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes including GD&T, CAD, and automation or machining.
• Experience with APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA for AS9145.
• US Persons only due to ITAR requirements.

Responsibilities

• Performs production support engineering work using standard and advanced techniques in supporting processes and/or systems.
• Identify equipment and machining strategies to manufacture machined components.
• Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods with knowledge of design, materials, fabrication, tooling, and production equipment capabilities.
• Develop and test or source tools, machinery, and equipment; justify costs with capital justifications and training.
• Create or update production routings from raw material to production, assembly, and test.
• Define machines, tools, and gauges; specify feeds and speeds per product specs.
• Own process ownership to review and resolve issues with corrective actions.
• Prepare component and assembly cost estimates for financial decisions.
• Create or modify NC/CNC programs to manufacture hardware per specifications.
