Job summary

Blue Origin in Kent, WA seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to support complex reusable rocket engine systems. You will act as a technical interface between production and design engineering, ensuring smooth builds, rapid issue resolution, and continuous improvement across manufacturing processes.

Minimum qualifications include a BS in electrical/related field and 3+ years in aerospace electrical hardware, with experience in DFMA, circuit analysis, and RF systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience with complex electrical aerospace or space hardware.
• Experience operating, diagnosing, and dispositioning non‑conforming electrical hardware, harnesses, software, and/or firmware.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems such as high‑speed digital, analog, and mixed‑signal circuits.
• Battery‑based power systems (power management, switching, charging, safety).
• Embedded command and I/O systems for complex industrial or vehicle applications.
• RF communication systems and components.
• Experience with circuit analysis and simulation (worst‑case analysis, SI, logic).
• Grounding, PCB layout, EMI/EMC tradeoffs.
• DFMA principles in design development.
• Strong communication, organization, and project management skills.
• Hands‑on mindset with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands‑on support to a fast‑paced production environment.
• Lead troubleshooting and disposition of non‑conforming avionics hardware, software, firmware, and electrical systems through detailed work instructions.
• Drive isolation, containment, and resolution of NC parts and assemblies.
• Lead root cause analysis and RCCA to prevent recurrence of manufacturing and hardware issues.
• Support design and operational gated reviews with technical artifacts and readiness assessments.
• Collaborate with design engineering to implement ECRs that improve manufacturability and reduce non‑conformances.
• Partner with design teams early to improve DFMA prior to design release.
