Job summary

Rocket Lab in Long Beach, CA invites applications for Manufacturing Engineer II – Fluid Systems. The role develops, implements and improves propulsion component assembly and manufacturing processes with expertise in additive manufacturing, machining, welding, assembly and QA practices.

You will collaborate with design and manufacturing teams, drive continuous improvement using Lean/Six Sigma, and support capital upgrades while ensuring aerospace standards and safe, reliable production flows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or aerospace engineering.
• 2+ years fabricating methods experience: OTW, TIG, proof testing and cleaning.
• Experience setting up and/or operating a tube shop or build area.

Responsibilities

• Develop, perform, and qualify precision welding and fabrication of tubing components according to aerospace specifications.
• Utilize TIG, MIG, OTW and other welding methods to achieve required structural integrity.
• Conduct thorough inspections of welded components using NDE/NDT methods.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to interpret and implement design specifications.
• Lead problem containment and root cause/corrective action investigations when required.
• Analyze and resolve manufacturing discrepancies and non-conformances.
