Job summary

Rocket Lab seeks a Manufacturing Engineer II or Senior for Fluid Systems at its Long Beach, CA headquarters. The role focuses on developing and improving propulsion component manufacturing with strong welding, NDE/NDT, and Lean Six Sigma expertise to drive quality and efficiency.

The candidate will lead process improvements, collaborate with engineering, and implement design specifications while supporting capital upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, aerospace engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of experience developing and introducing fabrication methods (OTW, TIG, proof testing and cleaning).
• Experience setting up and/or operating a tube shop or build area.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and improve the propulsion component manufacturing process.
• Utilize welding methods to ensure structural integrity of tubing components.
• Inspect welded components using NDE/NDT techniques to identify defects and drive quality improvements.
• Collaborate with engineering to interpret and implement design specs.
• Lead root cause investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
