Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. in Fullerton, CA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer I to join our onsite engineering team.

You will develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods for aerospace machined components, applying knowledge of design, materials, fabrication, lean, assembly, and quality controls. The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent), 1+ year of manufacturing experience, and hands-on CNC, GD&T, and SPC knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing) or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 1+ year of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of CNC manufacturing and aerospace standards.
• Experience with AS9100 and NADCAP standards.
• Knowledge of GD&T, fixturing and gaging methods.
• Statistical process control experience in aerospace.
• Proficient in SolidWorks or similar modeling software.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing processes to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Create and maintain work instructions, routers, and SOPs.
• Support process changes, validations and shop-floor improvements.
• Participate in NPI, FAI, and Continuous Improvement projects.
• Collect and analyze basic manufacturing data (cycle time, scrap rate, yield).
• Review and implement manufacturing drawings and engineering change notices.
• Support cost-reduction and efficiency initiatives.
• Participate in PFMEA, Process Capability, and RCCA studies.
