Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. in Fullerton, CA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer I to join our onsite engineering team.

The role focuses on developing, evaluating, and enhancing manufacturing methods for aerospace machined components, leveraging design knowledge, materials, lean principles, and quality standards. The successful candidate will contribute to process improvements, data analysis, and documentation, while ensuring safety and quality in a high-precision environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing) or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 1+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of CNC manufacturing and aerospace standards.
• Experience with AS9100 and NADCAP standards.
• Knowledge of GD&T, fixturing and gaging methods.
• Statistical process control experience in aerospace.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing processes to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Assist with creating and maintaining work instructions, routers, and SOPs.
• Support process changes, validations and shop-floor improvements.
• Participate in NPI, FAI, and Continuous Improvement Projects.
• Collect and analyze basic manufacturing data (cycle time, scrap rate, yield).
• Review and implement manufacturing drawings and engineering change notices.
• Support Cost-Reduction and Efficiency initiatives.
• Participate in PFMEA, Process Capability, and RCCA studies
