Job summary

Blue Origin in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to lead design and implementation of efficient manufacturing systems for aerospace production. You will drive DFM/DFT, ensure quality control, and optimize supply chain logistics across production facilities.

The role requires collaboration with design engineering, quality, and production teams to reduce costs, improve timelines, and apply advanced manufacturing technologies. Relocation is available for this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
• 1+ years creating English work instructions.
• Experience in manufacturing engineering roles (levels 1-3) as outlined in the job spec.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design for manufacturability (DFM), DFA, DFT for reliable space vehicles.
• Translate requirements into robust manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with design, quality, supply chain, and production teams to accelerate space production.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing docs, flow diagrams, tool designs, inspection plans.
• Evaluate new manufacturing technologies and methods (machining, welding, additive manufacturing).
• Support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve reliability.
• Ensure work aligns with AS9100/ISO 9001 standards for a safe space program.
• Participate in FMEAs, risk assessments, and validation of new lines and equipment.
• Apply AI technologies to optimize processes and improve first-pass quality.
