A-1 Machining Company in New Britain, CT is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support accurate machining of aerospace components. You will develop CNC programs for turning and milling to meet precise dimensions and create setup sheets, tool sheets, and control documentation for aerospace parts.

The role requires reading complex drawings, applying Mastercam/SolidWorks, designing tooling, fixtures, and processes, and managing projects from start to finish.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in manufacturing engineering or related role.
  • Experience with CNC programming and aerospace machining environments preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and customer specifications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • CNC programming turning or milling to meet final dimensions.
  • Create setup sheets, tool sheets and control documentation for aerospace parts.
  • Create drawings for projects and products.
  • Design tooling, fixtures, jigs or other devices to aid production.
  • Manage projects from start to finish and coordinate with customers.
  • Review contracts, verify completeness and address pricing or contract questions.
  • Verify that calculations and design activities are checked and current.
  • Maintain current files for all part and job related data.
  • Interface with customers for technical information and pricing/contract issues.
  • Carry out process improvements including cost reduction.
