Job summary

Cyient Limited in New Britain, CT is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist/Tool Maker to operate and program 3- or 4-axis mills and lathes in a precision aerospace tooling environment. The role requires a hands-on professional who can read technical drawings and ensure high-precision components.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of machining experience or a recognized machining certificate, can set up CNC machines, and is comfortable working independently in a non-production setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of machining experience or completion of a recognized Machining Certificate program.
• Ability to independently set up and operate CNC machines in a non-production environment.
• Familiarity with blueprints, GD&T, and inspection tools.
• Aerospace machining experience is a strong plus.
• Programming experience is a plus, but not required.
• US Citizenship required due to ITAR restrictions.

Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints, GD&T drawings and specifications to plan machining processes.
• Program CNC mills and lathes, setting reference points, tool registers, offsets; Mastercam a plus.
• Set up machines by installing chucks, tools, align and indicate vices and heads.
• Execute milling, turning, facing, threading, knurling, grooving, and drilling with precision.
• Adjust and reprogram machines as needed to maintain part quality and efficiency.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and troubleshoot basic equipment malfunctions.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Participate in training and stay up-to-date on machining best practices and technologies.
