Job summary

RTX in Rockford, IL is seeking a Spring/Summer co-op in manufacturing engineering to work onsite on tooling, fixtures, and process improvements. The role involves using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, NX, and Teamcenter to design tooling, create 3D-printed fixtures, and revise work instructions.

Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Materials, Operations, Aerospace or a related discipline.
• Strong modeling software experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or NX.
• Willingness to work onsite in Rockford, IL for the co-op term.

Responsibilities

• Assist tooling and fixturing designs with SolidWorks, Teamcenter, NX, and AutoCAD.
• Use 3D printing to create shadow boards, fixtures/tools and support operations day to day needs.
• Revise, create, and maintain manufacturing work instructions.
• Support implementation of new manufacturing equipment, tools, and processes and evaluate feasibility.
• Participate in Lean events pertaining to production processes.
