Job summary

RTX is seeking a co-op in Rockford, IL to support tooling design and manufacturing improvements. You will use SolidWorks, AutoCAD, NX, and Teamcenter to create fixtures, shadow boards, and tooling solutions onsite. You will also help revise work instructions and participate in Lean events to optimize production processes.

The role offers hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment, processes, and collaboration with cross-functional teams in a dynamic aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Materials, Operations, Aerospace or a related discipline.
• Experience with modeling software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, NX) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist and create tooling and fixturing designs using SolidWorks, Teamcenter, NX, and AutoCAD.
• Use 3D printing to create shadow boards, fixtures/tools and support operations.
• Revising, creating, and maintaining manufacturing work instructions.
• Support implementation of new manufacturing equipment, tools, and processes and evaluate feasibility.
• Participate in Lean events related to production processes.
