Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Melbourne, FL, invites applications for an Engineering Co‑Op– Manufacturing Operations to work with Manufacturing and Test Engineers on new and existing products. Qualifications

• Must be pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related STEM and enrolled through internship/co-op.
• Experience with basic statistics and statistical process control (SPC).
• Experience with data analysis, automation, or engineering software such as Python, MATLAB, Excel, LabVIEW, or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and automate data-collection tools; perform root-cause analysis; implement corrective actions to improve test processes.
• Analyze and enhance test equipment performance, reliability, and efficiency; reduce downtime and costs.
• Support capacity planning, ROI analysis, and evaluate test approaches to optimize staffing, production, and capital investments.
• Provide technical support for troubleshooting, training, and resolving production issues, including Manufacturing Flow Inhibitors (MFIs).
• Collaborate with Design Engineering to address component obsolescence, maintain test documentation, and manage configuration and change processes.
