Job summary

CFD Research is seeking a Maintainability and Testability Engineer to support complex aerospace hardware systems. You will influence fault detection, diagnostic strategies, and built-in testability across the lifecycle, partnering with reliability, controls, software, and design teams to improve maintainability and serviceability.

The role emphasizes FMEA/FMECA‑informed design improvements, verification planning, and lifecycle support, with opportunities to shape diagnostics and maintenance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in systems, aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or related engineering discipline.
• 3+ years of relevant engineering experience in maintainability, testability, diagnostics, or product support.
• Understanding of hardware failure modes and relation to fault detection/isolation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the maintainability and testability engineering framework.
• Create and update Maintenance Task Analyses and Level of Repair Analysis.
• Develop fault detection, isolation analyses, and diagnostic coverage assessments.
• Collaborate with controls, software, electrical, mechanical, and other teams to enhance BIT functionality.
• Support reliability-centered maintenance activities and maintenance task development.
• Evaluate maintenance procedures, manuals, and support equipment for consistency with design.
