Job summary

Pratt & Whitney is seeking candidates for a weekend shift role (Friday–Sunday, 6:00am–6:30pm) to train as a Certified Operator. The program includes a 3-week training period and 4–8 weeks of on-the-job training at our North Berwick, ME facility, with hands-on instruction on NC milling/grinding machines and precision measurement.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• 1+ years of manufacturing, automotive or related trade experience preferred.
• Ability to perform computations involving decimals and fractions.
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Learn to set up and operate NC milling/grinding machines, vertical turret lathes or VTCs to perform routine production operations.
• Learn to verify conformance of finished work to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
• Obtain operator Certification to be able to accept/reject parts.
• Learn to maintain machines by performing required TPM.
• Collaborate with engineers, quality assurance, programmers and other production personnel to resolve machining problems.
