Job summary

Pratt & Whitney is seeking candidates for a 2nd shift manufacturing role at our North Berwick facility. Training will occur over 3 weeks, followed by 4-8 weeks of on-the-job training, with a focus on setting up and operating NC milling and grinding equipment to process weldments and assemblies.

You will learn to read operation sheets and travelers to prepare machines for multiple turning, grinding and chamfering tasks.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of manufacturing, automotive or related trade experience.
• Ability to compute decimals and fractions.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate NC milling/grinding machines to perform routine production operations on a variety of weldments and assemblies.
• Verify conformance of finished work to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
• Obtain operator Certification to be able to accept/reject parts.
• Maintain machines by performing total preventive maintenance (TPM).
• Work collaboratively with engineers, quality assurance, programmers and other production personnel to resolve machining problems.
