Job summary

York Employment Services, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer (Lean Champion) for the Aerospace industry to drive Lean initiatives and optimize production. You will design and improve processes, tooling, and fixtures to boost quality and reduce costs.

You'll analyze workflows, collaborate with engineering, sales, suppliers, and vendors, lead 5S, conduct audits for AS9100, train staff, and act as a change agent to embed a culture of continuous improvement across the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Experience leading Lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Experience improving production efficiency and reducing costs.
• Familiarity with AS9100 quality management system.

Responsibilities

• Design and improve manufacturing processes, tooling, and fixtures.
• Analyze workflows, layouts, and workforce utilization for efficiency.
• Conduct product testing, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements.
• Collaborate with engineering, sales, suppliers, and vendors.
• Maintain manufacturing documentation and systems.
• Estimate production time, labor, and costs.
• Lead Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives.
• Conduct audits and ensure AS9100 compliance.
• Train and mentor employees on Lean principles.
• Drive continuous improvement projects (cycle time, productivity, inventory).
• Act as a change agent to embed Lean culture.
