Job summary

Blue Origin is hiring a welder to join our manufacturing and supply chain operations. You will perform welding on aluminum, steel and alloys to precise tolerances and assess weld quality across critical components for launch vehicles.

Responsibilities include reading drawings, setting up and operating friction stir welds, and maintaining equipment. Relocation is provided; multiple shifts available, with ongoing applications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years experience in Laser welding.
• Understand blue print drawings and tolerances.
• Basic GD&T knowledge.
• U.S. citizen or eligible for work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Performs welding on aluminum, steel and alloys to required tolerances.
• Determines layouts and welds parts per engineering drawings.
• Monitors and verifies quality per statistical/process controls.
• Joins metal parts to form a permanent bond.
• Welds using gas welders and gas torches; may use friction stir welding.
• Uses electrical currents or friction to heat/bond metals.
• Observes tests to evaluate weld quality and conformance.
• Sets up and operates large machines to create friction stir welds on launch vehicles.
• Performs periodic maintenance on machines with pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
• Uses precision tools like micrometers, calipers, torque wrenches.
