Job summary

Bombardier Transportation GmbH in Wichita, Kansas is seeking a Bids and Proposals Design Engineer to lead engineering efforts for interior modifications. You will collaborate with Sales, Product and Vendors to craft compelling value propositions and ensure successful bid outcomes.

The role requires strong leadership, proven communication, and deep knowledge of aircraft interiors, product development, and certification processes.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of experience in engineering and/or aircraft interior modifications in aerospace.
• Bachelor's or Technical degree in Engineering (highly preferred).
• Understanding of aircraft product development and certification processes.
• Strong leadership and clear, timely stakeholder communication.
• Proficient in MS PowerPoint and MS Excel for presentations and analyses.
• Technical knowledge of aircraft interiors and related systems.

Responsibilities

• Promote growth, profitability and competitive advantage of aftermarket products and services for Bombardier Service Centers for Learjet, Challenger or Global lines.
• Provide expert technical guidance and develop value propositions for customer engagements and campaigns.
• Support product review and analysis to ensure business acumen, standardization and cost containment.
• Coordinate with Vendors, Sales and Product Admins to improve the product roadmap and interior portfolios.
• Act as engineering focal for Bombardier models in bid/proposal phases for interior modifications.
• Respond to technical questions from team members and support informal customer discussions with Sales Managers.
• Represent engineering while interfacing with client technical/program office representatives and suppliers.
• Lead multidisciplinary inputs to resolve technical roadblocks, risks and challenges.
• Support sales meetings with technical insight on high-profile modifications and upgrades.
• Communicate with stakeholders to ensure alignment and coordination.
• Be accountable for submission of all Engineering Bids as required.
