Job summary

Howmet Aerospace is seeking Inspectors / FPI Trainees at our Winsted, CT facility. You will perform receiving, in-process, and final visual inspections on aerospace components, verifying materials against orders and specs, and documenting quality data.

The role offers hands-on training in fluorescence penetrant inspection (FPI), with a starting rate of $20.00/hour plus shift differentials. A $3,000 sign-on bonus is available for eligible external hires and a comprehensive benefits package is

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
Experience using precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges is preferred.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Perform receiving, in-process, and final visual inspections on aerospace components.
Verify materials and parts match work orders and engineering specifications.
Inspect incoming shipments and confirm accuracy against purchase orders and documentation.
Use precision measuring tools and visual inspection techniques to verify product quality.
Identify non-conforming materials and communicate findings to appropriate personnel.
Complete inspection reports, quality records, and production documentation accurately.
Work closely with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to resolve quality concerns.
Support continuous improvement, safety, and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) initiatives.
Follow all company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
