Job summary

RTX is seeking an internship/co-op candidate to support manufacturing processes and improve efficiency at its Coralville, IA site. You will work with engineering and production teams to optimize layouts, instructions, and workflows while designing fixtures for process improvements.

You will learn to assess current processes, identify inefficiencies, and drive continuous improvements with hands-on CAD work and collaboration across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering and enrolled through internship/co-op.
• Interest in manufacturing processes and continuous improvement is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing processes, including equipment, floor layouts, work sequences and instructions.
• Conduct studies on cost control, productivity, inventory and production records.
• Review products and processes for quality and producibility risks with design teams.
• Design and 3D print fixtures and tooling to support process improvements.
• Independently resolve complex problems and develop tactical plans.
