Job summary

RTX in Bellevue, IA is seeking a motivated student pursuing Industrial, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering for a full-time co-op from January to August. You will work on the manufacturing floor with operators, inspectors and technicians to tackle daily issues and longer-term projects.

You will design tooling, use 3D printing to support production, and analyze layouts, flow, testing, and modifications of electromechanical devices.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
• Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, Fusion 360, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session that runs January to August.
• Work with manufacturing floor employees to solve day-to-day issues and contribute to longer-term projects.
• Design tooling to aid the manufacturing process and utilize additive manufacturing (3D printing) to support production needs.
• Analyze optimal layout, flow, building, testing, troubleshooting, repair, and modification of electronic or electro-mechanical devices.
• Assist in planning the allocation of resources, materials, and personnel to maximize equipment utilization.
• Conduct studies focused on cost control, productivity improvement, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems.
