Job summary

RTX is seeking a student or new graduate for an internship/co-op/early-career role based in Cedar Rapids, IA. You will support manufacturing processes by managing equipment, layouts, workflows, and procedures, and conduct cost, productivity, and inventory studies.

Travel to local Iowa sites as needed. You will learn to use SAP, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, eView, PDM, and change control boards, applying CORE certification and standard work tools to drive improvements.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related STEM field.
• Prior experience in manufacturing environments.
• Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing processes by managing equipment, floor layouts, work sequences, work instructions, procedures, and workflows.
• Conduct studies on cost control, productivity, cost reduction, inventory, and production record systems.
• Review products and processes for quality, safety, and producibility risks, and collaborate with design teams to implement changes that mitigate those risks.
• Manage moderately sized projects or processes while independently resolving complex problems.
• Develop tactical plans to address daily challenges.
• Travel to local Iowa regional sites as needed.
