Job summary

Karman Space & Defense seeks an HR Generalist in West Valley City, UT to partner with leadership and manage HR operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will handle employee relations, recruiting coordination, onboarding, benefits, payroll, and regulatory compliance while ensuring HR processes and records are accurate and compliant across production and admin teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, business administration, or a related field.
• Experience in HR administration, employee relations, recruitment, benefits administration, and compliance.
• Experience using HRIS, ATS, and Microsoft Office.
• Working knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and employee relations principles.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills; able to manage multiple priorities under deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
• Ability to handle sensitive employee information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
• Attention to detail and ability to apply company policies and procedures consistently.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the HR Director, leadership, and managers to support workforce needs.
• Coordinate onboarding, orientation, and initial training.
• Maintain accurate employee records, HRIS data, organizational charts, and job descriptions.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and recordkeeping.
• Administer employee leaves, including FMLA and ADA-related requirements.
• Assist with benefits administration and open enrollment.
• Support biweekly payroll processing by reviewing timekeeping and changes.
• Coordinate employee training and development records.
• Support performance management, HR audits, policy updates, and compliance reporting.
• Review HR processes to identify improvements and align with procedures and customer requirements.
