Job summary

A Northridge, CA-based company is seeking a Material Logistics Inventory Manager III to join their team in Northridge. The role involves performing manual and clerical duties related to shipping, receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing and delivering a variety of materials, equipment and supplies.

Responsibilities include counting and weighing items, inspecting shipments for damage, preparing shipping paperwork, selecting shipment methods, and operating material handling equipment.

Qualifications

• Forklift certification required.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information one-on-one and in small groups.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic in all units of measure.
• Basic knowledge of Inventory software; Order processing systems, Excel and Word processing software.
• Valid California Driver’s license with clean DMV record.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Experience working with ERP systems (Costpoint a plus).

Responsibilities

• Count, weigh or measure incoming or outgoing items to compare with bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records.
• Examine incoming shipments for damage or shortages and coordinate with shipper to rectify.
• Prepare shipping paperwork and forms as required (bills of lading, etc.).
• Determine shipment method using knowledge of procedures, routes and rates.
• Package, weigh and stamp materials for shipping.
• Operate forklifts and related equipment to move stock or reorganize storage.
• Resolve basic issues and refer complex problems to higher-level staff.
• Develop working knowledge of subject matter.
