Job summary

AeroVironment, based in California, is seeking a Material Control Specialist II to maintain optimal inventory levels and support production efficiency. You will track, reconcile, and analyze inventory records, collaborating with procurement, production, and warehouse teams to minimize discrepancies.

The role is contractor-based, requiring 1–3 years of inventory control experience, proficiency with MS Office and ERP/MRP systems, and a commitment to data accuracy and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years of related inventory/stockroom experience or equivalent.
• Foundational knowledge of inventory management principles and warehouse operations.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems for inventory tracking and control.

Responsibilities

• Monitors inventory levels and ensures materials are available to meet production and operational needs.
• Receives and counts stock items, and records data using computerized system.
• Packs and unpacks items to be stocked on shelves in stockroom in an orderly and accessible manner.
• Conducts cycle counts and physical inventory audits to reconcile stock discrepancies.
• Investigates and resolves inventory variances by working with procurement, warehouse, and production teams.
• Issues or distributes materials to internal customers based on requisitions.
• Maintains accurate inventory records in the ERP/MRP system and ensures data integrity.
• May handle packaging and shipping (domestic and international) including hazardous materials as needed.
• Tracks incoming shipments and expedites critical materials with stakeholders.
• Assists in implementing inventory control policies and process improvements.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors or inventory managers.
