Job summary

Ascent Aerospace in Santa Ana, CA is seeking a Material Controls Associate / Shipping and Receiving Clerk to manage receipt, storage and movement of materials, verify quantities, and prepare shipments. The role involves data entry, inventory control, and occasional forklift operation on a manufacturing floor.

You will support internal audits, perform monthly inventory closeouts, and ensure accurate inventory levels while complying with ITAR and export-control requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years in a tool crib, warehouse, inventory control, or related environment.
• Mechanical aptitude and understanding of loading and unloading procedures.
• Familiarity with Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with management to support operational performance.
• Proactive mindset with the ability to anticipate needs and complete tasks independently.
• Must meet Export Control requirements; status as a “U.S. Person” under 22 C.F.R. §.

Responsibilities

• Maintain inventory and support internal and external audits.
• Complete monthly inventory closeouts, receiving documentation, and assist with loading & unloading incoming shipments.
• Receiving, verifying, and storing incoming materials, ensuring accurate inventory levels.
• Managing the flow of goods into and out of a facility.
• Preparing, packaging, and shipping outgoing orders.
• Operate a forklift, pallet jack, or other material-handling equipment.
• Inspect incoming materials for damage or discrepancies.
• Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
• Unloading incoming deliveries and materials and Loading trucks for shipment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
