Job summary

Barnes Aerospace seeks a Director of Global Commodity Management to lead strategy across direct materials, tooling and services for the aerospace footprint. You will develop and coach Regional Commodity Managers, drive cost, quality, delivery, and risk improvements, and partner with Engineering, Operations, Finance and Commercial teams.

The role requires a proven track record in global sourcing, complex negotiations, and supplier performance management, with deep knowledge of AS9100 and export

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Finance, or related field; 10+ years in aerospace procurement/commodity-management.
• 5+ years of people leadership experience with dispersed teams.
• Global aerospace experience managing direct materials, special processes, or complex supply chains.
• Proven ability to develop and execute global commodity strategies and negotiate complex agreements.
• Advanced expertise in supplier qualification and performance management (AS9100, Nadcap, flow-downs).
• Knowledge of global trade compliance, Incoterms, export controls, and supplier risk.

Responsibilities

• Lead global commodity-management for direct materials, services, tooling and indirect categories.
• Develop and coach Regional Commodity Managers, setting global strategies and metrics.
• Own global sourcing strategies, supplier selection, and long-term agreements.
• Build should-cost, PPV, and market-index analyses to improve productivity and reduce cost.
• Manage supplier relationships, executive reviews, scorecards, and corrective actions.
• Oversee supplier capacity, lead times, dual-sourcing, and supply-continuity planning.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Operations, Finance, and Program Management on sourcing decisions.
• Govern demand/supply reviews, expedites, and obsolescence management.
• Lead global contract reviews to mitigate schedule, quality, warranty, and price risks.
• Standardize sourcing processes and KPI reporting via ERP, Coupa, and BI tools.
