Job summary

BARNES AEROSPACE is seeking a Commodity Manager for our Indirect team to develop and execute indirect commodity strategies. This US-based, remote role includes 15-25% travel and reports to the Global Indirect Commodity Manager.

You will lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives, negotiate terms, and manage supplier performance to achieve cost savings and risk mitigation. Strong analytical and negotiation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of procurement, strategic sourcing, category management, or related role with indirect spend exposure.
• Proven ability to lead strategic sourcing initiatives and negotiate terms.
• Strong analytical and financial acumen including TCO, business cases, and cost savings.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies for indirect commodities.
• Drive cost savings, cost avoidance, and process efficiencies while maintaining service levels.
• Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing: requirements gathering, market analysis, RFx, bid evaluation and supplier selection.
• Negotiate and implement commercial agreements in partnership with Legal and Finance.
• Manage supplier relationships and track KPIs across quality, delivery, cost, and responsiveness.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with policies and contracting requirements.
