Job summary

Barnes Aerospace is seeking a Commodity Manager for their Indirect team. This US-based, remote position requires 15–25% travel and reports to the Global Indirect Commodity Manager.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7+ years in procurement, strategic sourcing, category management, or related role with indirect spend exposure.
• Proven ability to lead strategic sourcing, evaluate supplier proposals, negotiate terms, and manage supplier performance.
• Strong analytical and financial acumen with experience in spend analysis and cost-savings delivery.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies for assigned indirect commodities, aligning sourcing plans with business priorities and TCO.
• Drive cost savings, cost avoidance, working-capital improvements, and process efficiencies while maintaining service levels.
• Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing initiatives: stakeholder requirements, market analysis, RFx events, bid evaluation, supplier selection, and business-case development.
• Negotiate and implement commercial agreements including long-term contracts, NDAs, SOWs, pricing, SLAs, and terms with Legal and Finance.
• Manage supplier relationships and monitor KPIs for quality, delivery, cost, and compliance.
