Job summary

Talently seeks a Director of Finance and Accounting to lead the financial strategy for a capital-intensive aviation/aerospace component manufacturing company in Vista, CA. You will partner with the CEO, investors, and board to shape growth and governance, while overseeing GAAP reporting and cost accounting.

You will own budgeting, treasury, internal controls, and ERP initiatives, building a scalable finance organization to support rapid expansion and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• MBA or CPA strongly preferred.
• 8+ years in finance leadership in aviation/aerospace manufacturing or defense.
• Cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong GAAP knowledge with audited financial statements experience.
• Experience presenting financial performance to a Board, investors, or lenders.
• Experience evaluating or implementing ERP/financial systems.
• At least 8 years with government contracts and related cost accounting.
• Knowledge of California wage-and-hour law or ability to collaborate with HR.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own the financial strategy, multi-year model, capital plan, and funding approach for a capital-intensive operation.
• Lead AP/AR/GL, monthly close, cost accounting, and GAAP-compliant reporting.
• Direct budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, treasury, and working capital management.
• Partner with Operations, Manufacturing, Sales, and leadership to align financials with production and objectives.
• Establish internal controls, risk management, and compliance with AS9100, FAR, CAS, and contract requirements.
• Present results and strategic recommendations to investors, lenders, the Board, and senior leadership.
• Lead audits and ensure timely reporting for external and government auditors.
• Build and scale the finance organization, including hiring and developing finance staff.
• Evaluate, select, and implement ERP/financial systems supporting cost accounting and growth.
• Partner with CEO on M&A, partnerships, pricing strategy, and capital initiatives.
