Job summary

FMI Aerostructures in California is seeking a Final Inspector to ensure the highest quality of aerospace components before shipment. You will inspect parts, read blueprints, and document non-conformances to support a safe, reliable supply chain.

The role requires GD&T knowledge, precision measurement skills, and experience with aerospace standards. You will collaborate with production and engineering to implement corrective actions and maintain audit-ready records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years in aerospace inspection or quality assurance.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with GD&T and calibration tooling.
• Knowledge of ITAR requirements is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed inspections of completed parts and assemblies to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards prior to shipment.
• Utilize precision measuring tools and equipment to verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Review and interpret technical documentation, including blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.
• Identify and document non-conformances, discrepancies, and defects, ensuring accurate reporting and follow-up.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain thorough inspection records, logs, and reports for traceability and audit purposes.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality management systems during inspection processes.
• Train and mentor junior inspectors on quality standards and inspection techniques.
• Stay updated on industry regulations, standards, and best practices relevant to aerospace inspections.
• Other duties as assigned
