Job summary

Calspan JETS is seeking a Field Service Technician to install, troubleshoot, and commission mechanical and electrical equipment in aerospace test facilities. You will support site activities, supervise subcontractors, and coordinate parts and procedures for successful installations.

The role requires 75% travel internationally and domestically, a valid U.S. driver’s license and passport, and strong planning, communication, and hands-on troubleshooting skills with reading engineering drawings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or 3+ years of related experience.
• Ability to travel internationally and domestically 75% of the time.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and passport are required.
• Strong planning and organization skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with customers and teammates.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and troubleshooting procedures.

Responsibilities

• Install and repair mechanical and electrical equipment on aerospace test facilities.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic systems using diagnostic tools.
• Perform functional checkout and commissioning per procedures; document site activity.
• Supervise subcontractors and coordinate their work.
• Prepare redline drawings, request parts, and help write work procedures.
• Assist shop teams with sub-assembly work and facility maintenance as needed.
