Job summary

CFD Research is seeking a talented finite element engineer to join the structural analysis team in Huntsville. You will develop and validate linear and nonlinear FEA models for aerospace structures, mentoring others and producing engineering reports for verification and design reviews.

The role requires experience with Abaqus/Ansys/NASTRAN, strong communication skills, and ability to work with cross-functional teams including Prototype, Test and Evaluation.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship or eligibility to obtain/maintain a secret security clearance
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Experience with Abaqus, ANSYS, or NASTRAN
• Ability to create clear technical documentation and present results to stakeholders
• Strong problem solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate linear and nonlinear FEA models to assess safety margins and deflections
• Mentor under subject matter experts and produce engineering reports and documentation for verification and design reviews
• Collaborate with Prototype, Test and Evaluation Division engineers and support design reviews
