Job summary

Aurex is seeking an experienced Computational Fluid Dynamics CFD Engineer in Huntsville, AL to lead advanced CFD analyses for aerospace and defense applications. You will model fluid flow, heat transfer and multiphase systems, translating complex physics into robust computational models for engineering decisions.

Ideal candidates bring strong CFD tooling skills (ANSYS Fluent/CFX, STAR-CCM+, OpenFOAM), plus experience in turbulence, boundary conditions, and CAD-prep in SolidWorks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering with focus on fluid mechanics/thermodynamics.
• 5 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Hands-on CFD software experience.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to translate results into actionable recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Lead CFD simulations involving fluid flow, heat transfer and multiphase systems using CFD tools.
• Translate complex physical problems into accurate computational models and setup.
• Collaborate with design engineers to incorporate CFD findings into CAD models and designs.
• Validate simulation results using experimental data, wind tunnel or field measurements.
• Evaluate and optimize designs for performance, manufacturability and standards compliance.
• Document methodologies, results, conclusions and engineering recommendations clearly.
