Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Quality Engineer in Bingen, WA to focus on First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation per AS9102 requirements, not hands-on inspection. The initial assignment is a 3–6 month backlog clearance of 100–150 FAIRs, with potential to transition to a full-time role supporting QMS development and production growth.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in aerospace quality engineering.
• Experience creating and reviewing FAI packages.
• Knowledge of AS9102 requirements.
• Experience in AS9100 or similar QMS.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specs.
• Strong documentation and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Review FAI packages for accuracy and compliance.
• Create and review internal FAIs.
• Verify drawing characteristics are documented.
• Collaborate with suppliers to resolve issues.
• Maintain organized FAI records per QMS.
• Support backlog reduction and production schedules.
• Review FAIRs per AS9102 and QMS.
• Assist in process improvement for FAI docs.
