Job summary

CBRE seeks a Chief Building Engineer Supervisor for a 580,000-square-foot aerospace manufacturing facility in Olathe, Kansas. The role oversees a team responsible for maintenance and repair operations ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient building systems supporting critical production activities.

You will manage training, scheduling, budgets, preventive maintenance, and safety programs while coaching staff and coordinating multi-discipline teams to meet project goals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 5-8 years of related experience; combination of experience and education may be considered
• Must meet physical requirements including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting 50 lbs+
• Innovative mentality to develop methods beyond existing solutions
• Ability to solve unique problems with broad business impact
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Excellent organizational skills and an inquisitive mindset
• Strong math skills enabling basic percentages and financial calculations

Responsibilities

• Track staff training and development; conduct performance evaluations; oversee recruitment and hiring
• Coordinate daily team activities; set work schedules; assign tasks; cross-train staff
• Develop and communicate preventive maintenance programs and safety manuals
• Ensure mechanics have necessary information and materials to complete work on time
• Develop material and labor cost estimates for work orders and projects
• Establish and maintain facilities maintenance budgets
• Respond to emergencies and seek help as needed
• Apply advanced knowledge to improve methods and procedures
• Demonstrate expertise across multiple disciplines and coach others
• Lead by example aligning with CBRE values; influence stakeholders at senior levels
• Support achievement of customer, operational, project, or service objectives across teams
• Contribute to new processes and standards
• Effectively communicate complex ideas
