Job summary

Momentum Manufacturing in St. Johnsbury, VT, seeks a Manufacturing Engineer for Fabrication to drive NPI and improve processes for sheet metal, tube frames, welded components, and large assemblies.

You will review customer drawings and CAD models to verify tolerances, and provide DFM feedback to customers. You will collaborate with Estimating, Customer Service, Production, Quality and Sales to support NPI and shop-floor improvements, aiming to reduce cycle times and scrap while ensuring AS9100

Qualifications

• Bachelor or associate's degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or related field; experience may substitute for degree
• Understanding of sheet metal fabrication equipment and willingness to work on the floor to learn
• Proficiency with CAD for part modeling & engineering drawings
• Strong computer skills in Windows-based programs
• Knowledge of quality control methodologies and manufacturing safety standards

Responsibilities

• Support NPI to meet customer deadlines with process models & drawings
• Spend time on the manufacturing floor producing first-time runs for large assemblies
• Specify & order tooling for forming & punching operations
• Design fixtures for robotic or manual welding and program welding robots
• Support process improvement on the production floor
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for defects or process deviations
• Lead continuous improvement projects to reduce cycle times and scrap
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards throughout manufacturing
