Job summary

Pratt & Whitney, a RTX business, invites engineering interns to join multidisciplinary teams to solve design challenges in aerospace hardware. You will apply FEA and classical methods to assess strength, vibration, and life, and help plan validation testing.

You will also support production and in-service investigations, and coordinate with vendors on hardware procurement while developing task plans and schedules. This internship offers learning, growth, and relocation eligibility.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Engineering and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship session.
• Experience with Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)
• Minimum of 30 credit hours completed by the start of the internship
• Minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA
• Experience with Finite Element Analysis or Mechanical Design Software is preferred
• Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience is preferred

Responsibilities

• Collaborate in multi-discipline teams to provide design solutions balancing customer requirements for durability, performance, cost and weight.
• Utilize finite-element and classical methods to perform strength, stress/deflection, vibration, fatigue life, damage tolerance, containment, kinematic and optimization analyses.
• Plan and cover validation testing (engine & rig) and data-reduction.
• Support production and in-service field investigations
• Develop task plans/schedules and coordinate with vendors on hardware procurement

Education

Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Engineering

Minimum 30 credit hours completed

Minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA

Experience with Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)

Experience with Finite Element Analysis
