Job summary

Technology Service Corporation (TSC) seeks an Aerospace Engineer to support work at the Naval Research Laboratory. The role involves conducting advanced fluid dynamics simulations to characterize aerodynamic loads and aerothermal environments across a wide range of flight regimes.

Proficiency with CFD tools (Star-CCM, CBAero, Cart3D, TAOS) and CAD (Siemens NX or SolidWorks) is expected, along with MATLAB for data analysis and strong teamwork and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship and an active Secret clearance (TS/SCI preferred).
  • Preferred 2 years of experience in a relevant aerospace engineering discipline involving aerodynamic or aerothermal analysis.
  • Working knowledge of CFD tools such as Star-CCM, CBAero, Cart3D, and TAOS.
  • Experience developing and applying trajectory modeling tools and integrating aerodynamic predictions into 6-DOF models.
  • Proficiency with CAD software, such as Siemens NX Design or SolidWorks.
  • Strong proficiency with data analysis tools such as MATLAB.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct advanced CFD simulations to characterize aerodynamic loads across flight regimes.
  • Characterize aerothermal environments for a wide range of flight conditions.
  • Integrate aerodynamic predictions into 6-DOF trajectory models and related analyses.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support Navy missions.
