Job summary

Technology Service Corporation (TSC) seeks an Aerospace Engineer to support work at the Naval Research Laboratory. This role offers the opportunity to directly impact high-priority Navy missions and advance fluid dynamics analyses across flight regimes.

The engineer will conduct advanced CFD-driven simulations to characterize aerodynamic loads and aerothermal environments, integrating predictions into 6-DOF trajectory models, and using CAD tools like Siemens NX Design or SolidWorks. U.S.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship and an active Secret clearance (TS/SCI preferred).
  • Preferred 2 years of experience in aerospace engineering involving aerodynamic or aerothermal analysis.
  • Working knowledge of CFD tools such as Star-CCM, CBAero, Cart3D, TAOS.
  • Experience developing and applying trajectory modeling tools and integrating aerodynamic predictions into 6-DOF models.
  • Proficiency with CAD software such as Siemens NX Design or SolidWorks.
  • Strong proficiency with data analysis tools such as MATLAB.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct advanced fluid dynamics simulations to characterize aerodynamic loads and aerothermal environments across flight regimes.
  • Integrate aerodynamic predictions into 6-DOF trajectory models and use trajectory modeling tools.

Job description

Technology Service Corporation (TSC) is seeking an Aerospace Engineer to support work at the Naval Research Laboratory. This position offers the opportunity to directly impact high-priority Navy missions.

The Aerospace Engineer will conduct advanced fluid dynamics simulations to characterize aerodynamic loads and aerothermal environments across a wide range of flight regimes. This requires a strong understanding of aerodynamics, fluid‑thermal interactions, and simulation‑based design. Proficiency with industry‑standard CFD and trajectory modeling tools, along with CAD experience, is expected.

Required Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizenship and an active Secret clearance (TS/SCI preferred).
  • Preferred 2 years of experience in a relevant aerospace engineering discipline involving aerodynamic or aerothermal analysis.
  • Working knowledge of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools such as Star‑CCM, CBAero, Cart3D, and TAOS.
  • Experience developing and applying trajectory modeling tools and integrating aerodynamic predictions into 6‑DOF models.
  • Proficiency with CAD software, such as Siemens NX Design or SolidWorks.
  • Strong proficiency with data analysis tools such and MATLAB.

In compliance with applicable pay transparency laws, the expected salary range for this position is $100,000 – $133,000 per year, depending on experience and location. This role is also eligible for an annual performance bonus and may include equity or incentive compensation as part of the total rewards package.
