Job summary

True Anomaly seeks a hands‑on Supplier Development Engineer to build and sustain a world‑class supplier base delivering flight‑quality hardware to orbit. You will bridge internal engineering teams with the supplier network, drive lean, and ensure quality, cost, and schedule targets.

You will qualify and continuously improve suppliers across electronics, PCBA, harnesses, and power systems, performing audits, risk assessments, and CAPA actions, while traveling to supplier sites as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
  • 4–7 years in supplier development, supplier quality, or manufacturing engineering in Aerospace/Defense/Medical/Automotive with focus on electronics, PCBA, or power systems.
  • Experience with IPC standards including IPC‑A‑610, IPC‑J‑STD‑001, IPC‑7711/7721, and IPC‑A‑620.
  • Experience with MIL‑STD testing protocols for electronics (MIL‑STD‑202, MIL‑STD‑883, MIL‑STD‑1540/1541).
  • Lean methodologies implementation with measurable results.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, PCB layouts, BOMs, and electronics test specs.
  • Experience conducting supplier audits, capability/risk assessments, qualification programs, and corrective actions (8D, CAPA, SCAR).
  • Development of supplier quality programs including scorecards, quality clauses, and performance management for PCBA, harnessing, and box‑build suppliers.
  • Familiarity with AS9100, ITAR/EAR; strong communication and cross‑functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead supplier development lifecycle — qualification, performance management, and continuous improvement for electronics, PCBA, cable harnesses, and power systems.
  • Conduct supplier qualification processes including technical audits, capability/risk assessments, and FAI with IPC/MIL standards focus.
  • Develop and implement supplier quality programs with scorecards, quality clauses, and flow‑down requirements for POs.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Program Management to ensure supplier readiness aligns with milestones.
  • Travel to supplier sites as needed (30–50%).
