Job summary

AV is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern for a 12‑week, onsite Summer Internship Program in Pottstown, PA. You’ll join the Test Equipment Engineering Team to design, develop, and test electrical systems for unmanned aircraft and robotics, gaining hands‑on experience and professional mentoring.

You’ll work on PCB test equipment, write software, and troubleshoot systems across the product lifecycle, with relocation/housing reimbursement possible depending on team and location.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Academic or personal project experience in power electronics, battery systems, or electric motors.
• Experience with embedded systems, FPGA, or RF systems.
• Familiarity with I2C, SPI, UART, USB, CAN, or LVDS protocols.
• Basic programming knowledge in C, C++, or C#.
• Exposure to test equipment like oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design, development, and troubleshooting of test equipment for PCBA, subsystems, and full systems.
• Develop and deploy test software to support hardware integration and validation.
• Maintain and upgrade test systems used during production.
• Participate in test plan creation, requirements documentation, and validation strategies.
• Assist in executing tests on power systems, avionics, and propulsion components.
• Learn and apply engineering best practices and documentation standards.
• Support hardware bring‑up, test station calibration, and system verification.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and systems engineers.
