Job summary

AeroVironment invites students to join its Summer Internship Program as a Test Equipment Engineering Intern. This 12-week, on-site role supports the design, development, and testing of AV systems, including unmanned aircraft components, with mentorship.

You will work on test equipment for PCBAs, software in C# using Visual Studio, and collaborate across engineering teams to meet project timelines in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS in Electrical, Mechanical, or Software Engineering.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience in test development, lab, or manufacturing.
• Experience writing bug reports and root-cause analysis.
• Exposure to Object-Oriented Programming (C# or LabVIEW a plus).
• Basic debugging and troubleshooting knowledge.
• Ability to estimate cost or development time from requirements.
• Knowledge of mechanical/electrical design principles and test instrumentation.
• Awareness of manual and automated testing across product stages.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design, development, deployment, troubleshooting, and upgrading of test equipment used for testing PCBAs, subsystems, and AV systems.
• Support development of C# / OOP software using Visual Studio IDE.
• Assist in developing test software programs in C#.
• Collaborate to develop test plans, requirements/specifications, and test strategies.
• Analyze, process, and format test results per standard procedures.
• Meet project deliverables in a fast-paced engineering environment.
• Support cross-functional teams across engineering disciplines.
• Provide feedback to product design on testability.
