Job summary

Safran Seats Gainesville, Texas is seeking a Design Quality Engineer to ensure design quality throughout development and production. You will collaborate with design engineering to define quality plans and monitor performance against requirements.

This role requires aerospace quality experience, audits, and knowledge of ISO/AS standards. You will train teams, lead QRQC activities, and maintain the CA/PA system while supporting continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Science or engineering related bachelor degree or 6 years of related design quality engineering.
• 3–5 years experience in aerospace industry or equivalent in engineering, design & development or quality roles.
• Knowledge of ISO9001, ISO19011, AS9100, AS9145, ISO14001, OHSAS18001
• Experience in internal and external audits and audit techniques
• APQP tools knowledge with PDCA, DMAIC and related tools
• Configuration and data management
• English proficient; Spanish and French are a plus

Responsibilities

• Ensure all activities at the design department are performed in accordance to the documented instructions
• Continuous monitoring of design & development activities for compliance with requirements
• Define, document, monitor and evaluate the effectivity of the design quality plans with design engineering
• Training, coaching and assurance of Engineering QRQC activity
• Function as internal IMS auditor as required by the internal audit plan
• Document and follow-up internal and external corrective actions
• Ensure proper and on-time response to required actions with analysis and action plans
• Verify the effectiveness of corrective actions implemented
• Maintain CA/PA system properly
