Job summary

Safran Aerosystems USA in Wall Township, New Jersey, seeks a Design Engineer Level II to join its North American Evacuation Systems unit. You will design, validate, and support life-saving aircraft evacuation systems, including slides, life rafts, and flotation devices, contributing to safety and certification efforts.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Engineering and 3–5 years’ experience across disciplines, plus Catia proficiency, hand tools capability, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field is required.
• 3-5 years of engineering experience.
• Experience with polymers, composites, fabrication methods, coatings, and castings is preferred.
• Develop project management, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills across organization levels.
• Proficiency in Catia or similar 3D CAD software; able to work with hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Own small-scale projects from concept to implementation with senior engineering oversight.
• Resolve engineering issues using experience in technical disciplines.
• Conduct analyses to support larger projects or specific items.
• Develop testing protocols and execute test plans.
• Establish QA, production procedures, and BOMs for specific products or activities.
• Work with vendors to set quality expectations and cost estimates for new parts.
• Contribute to larger engineering projects and develop new products.
