Job summary

Technique, Inc. is seeking a Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) to join the Quality team at our Jackson, Michigan facility.

The role ensures welded products meet customer specifications, codes, and internal quality standards, performing visual inspections per AWS standards and supporting audits and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate has a 5+ year weld inspection background in manufacturing, strong knowledge of MIG, TIG, resistance, and robotic welding, and the ability to read drawings and

Qualifications

• AWS CWI certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual weld inspections in accordance with AWS standards, customer specifications, and engineering drawings.
• Verify weld quality in prototype and production manufacturing.
• Interpret welding symbols, blueprints, and GD&T.
• Review weld procedures (WPS), PQR, and WPQ.
• Conduct first article, in-process, and final acceptance inspections.
• Document inspection results and maintain quality records.
• Support root cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Welding, Manufacturing, Production, and Quality teams.
• Assist with audits (customer and internal) and supplier quality activities.
• Verify calibration status of inspection equipment.
• Support PPAP, FAIR, and customer documentation as required.
