Job summary

Ontic Engineering and Manufacturing in Chatsworth, CA is seeking a Cost Analyst II to join our Estimating/Cost Analysis team. You will develop accurate material, labor and outside-processing cost estimates for aerospace and defense products, repairs and proposals.

Responsibilities include building BOMs from Visual ERP into Excel, evaluating supplier quotations, and coordinating with Program Management, Engineering and Purchasing to meet proposal timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Business/Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years cost estimating/analysis experience, preferably aerospace/defense.
• Proficiency with Excel, cost models, data reconciliation.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, BOMs and manufacturing/repair docs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates for material, labor and outside-processing for new and repeat production, repairs, and proposals.
• Build, validate and export BOMs from Visual ERP into Excel; review quantities, part numbers, revisions, routings and costs.
• Analyze supplier RFQs/quotations, MOQs, lead times and cost breaks for fairness and reasonableness.
• Coordinate estimating with Program Mgmt, Engineering, Purchasing and others to meet proposal timelines.
• Maintain RFQ costs, assumptions and supporting records in Visual ERP; ensure traceability.
