Job summary

Ontic Engineering and Manufacturing Inc. in Chatsworth, CA is seeking a Buyer II to support production in a fast-paced aerospace environment. You will manage end-to-end purchasing, select suppliers, place POs, and monitor deliveries while aligning with Planning, Operations, Quality, and Engineering.

The role emphasizes supplier performance, cost/lead-time improvements, regulatory compliance (ITAR/EAR), and collaboration across Value Streams to keep material flowing and on-time production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Buyer, Procurement, or Supply Chain role in manufacturing/aerospace.
• Familiarity with NDA and handling of sensitive information.
• Knowledge of ITAR, EAR and related regulatory requirements.
• Experience with FAR/DFARS and related regulations.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Visual, SAP, Oracle).
• Strong communication, follow-through and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Send RFQs to suppliers for pricing, delivery and inventory.
• Select and award POs; negotiate long-term pricing agreements.
• Perform cost/price analysis for procurements.
• Coordinate supplier schedules with production needs.
• Identify supply chain risks and mitigate disruptions.
• Collaborate with Planning and Value Streams to prioritize materials.
• Support compliance with processes, contracts and regulatory standards.
• Assist with recovery plans for late or at-risk materials.
• Resolve invoice issues and coordinate rework/returns.
• Contribute to supplier performance and material planning improvements.
